Dr. Laura, of recent N-word spewing fame is clearly not aware that she is living in censored times. Of course, this is all about words--the use of them and the fear of them. They're powerful, have a lasting effect and ultimately discussion of taboo words may be the only way to deconstruct and diffuse their power. I really don't see how making a word forbidden to a certain group of people can in anyway lessen its perceived meaning or lessen its hold over the populace.
