“And I will ask the Father and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever—“John 14:16 Earlier I mentioned that Jesus informed his followers that he was leaving to prepare a place for them and he would return and take them to the new place. In the meantime, while he was gone preparing their new place, they would not be alone in his absence. Jesus was a friend, a teacher, a counselor and a companion to his disciples. He was more of a teacher and counselor and many of them chose to call Jesus ‘Rabbi’ or ‘Teacher’. Knowing they needed direction and counsel, Jesus...
A Mansion is Waiting for Me
Jesus' ministry of healing the sick and comforting the bereaved, the oppressed and the indigent lasted about three years on this earth. During his three years Jesus performed many acts that are called miracles. He brought his friend Lazarus back from the dead, he restored the sight of blind people, he strengthened the legs of crippled men, and he fed thousands from a few fish and a few loaves of bread. He knew that soon his life would come to an end. In preparation of such a time, Jesus said, Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in me. In my father’s house there...
Maintaining a Healthy, Beautiful Garden
Since I’ve been going on and on about gardens, flowers, weeds and vegetation in general, let’s talk about my Miracle Grow. I mentioned earlier that I have a special agent or helper that encourages growth and good health for everything that grows in my garden and that helper is Miracle Grow. You can buy it anywhere; even the local drugstore carries it during the spring and summer months. It is the help of the Miracle Grow that I use on a regular basis that encouraged a $3.99 rose bush to grow into a 6 foot bush (tree???) in its second year of life. I believe the Miracle...
The Wonderful, Beautiful, Flower Garden
There has been much talk here about spirits and gardens and such. I write about a real garden in my back yard and I also refer to a symbolic garden that represents life; yours, mine and others. See, God created these beautiful creatures, people, that are very much alike to one another yet very much different. We, humans, are flowers; we come in different colors, shapes and sizes. Some of us require a lot of care and attention, like roses, while others need a small amount of light or a little bit of water such as the pothos. Some flowers grow to be three to six feet tall and others are...
